6th January 2015
Last meeting notes were read out.
1. Tuesday 2nd December Members Committee Christmas Meal at the Happiness Inn. This went very well and everyone enjoyed it.
2. Christmas Party on the 16th December at the Corus Club, everyone had a great time and its booked again for 15th December 2015. We raised £260 + £72 on the raffle.
3. Fundraising Events: February or March 2015 it is suggested we have a race night at New Marske Social Club. We raised £561.35 for our last sponsored walk. Possibly an Indi Rock band might do a fundraiser at the club.
4. Activities List 2014: Here is a list of things that happened before Christmas - Fridays DJ Training, Coffee Bar Training (ongoing),Relationship Training, Chinese Meal - 16th October Bowling Trip, Zumba Sessions (happening till at least  February 2015 half term).
5. Activities List 2015: It was suggested badminton at the Leisure Centre ( after February 2015 half term possibly), Drumming on at the moment, Swimming (after February 2015 half term), Photography course, Dancing and Singing (currently looking into, maybe in partnership with Creative Thinking), Line Dancing, Belly Dancing, Trampolining, Gymnastics and Little Cog were discussed as possibilities. An educational trip in April or May 2015 to either Eden Camp or Beamish might also be arranged.
6. Earthbeat: They are having an open day on Sunday 8th February at their new building The Old School, Saltburn). Everyone welcome.

Last meeting notes were read out.
1. Fundraising Events:  None planned at the moment.
2. Activities List 2015: here is a the list we discussed:
* It was suggested we did badminton at the Leisure Centre.  Going to start two weeks on Friday.
* Swimming - continues on Tuesdays, but unfortunately can't be on  Fridays as well, because there are no lifeguards available.
* Drama (with Shelley from Club Creative) - every Monday night.  More requested.
* Line Dancing - Looking for tutor
* Photography course, after drama has finished its sessions
* Singing - looking into it
* Jujitsu - looking into this also
* Belly Dancing, Trampolining, Gymnastics and Little Cog, were discussed as possibilities
* An educational trip to Beamish, probably in May now, is to be arranged
* Members asked for a fire fighters demonstration at the club
* The Owl Centre - a visit would probably have to be on a Saturday
* BBQ for the summer.  We would do it with a disco, probably the last Tuesday of the summer term.
* And finally, there could be a panto trip in Dec 15 / Jan 16, if there is enough interest
3. Staff training: Next Monday the club will be closed for this training
4. New Grenfell Website: The meeting notes from our monthly meetings are now on our new club website.

2. Activities List 2015:  here is a the list we discussed:
* Badminton at the Leisure Centre is going to start shortly.
* Swimming - continues on Tuesdays fortnightly.
* Drama (Club Creative) - back next week.
* Line Dancing - Looking for tutor
* Photography course, after drama has finished its sessions
* Singing - on hold
* Jujitsu - looking into this also
* Belly Dancing, Trampolining, Gymnastics and Little Cog, were discussed as possibilities
* An educational trip to Beamish, probably in May now, is to be arranged

3. Gary's Bench: coming very soon.  Concrete base now in place.  In June or July we will have a special commemoration day, with a BBQ, cake stall and people dressing up as Dr.Who characters.
4. Independent Voices: A member said they would like to do some training at the Club.

 2. Activities List 2015 - here is a the list we discussed:
  • Badminton at the Leisure Centre fortnightly on a Tuesday from next week

  • A trip to Flamingo Land, probably during the summer, is to be arranged (instead of Beamish)
  • Trying to arrange a fire fighters demonstration
 3. Gary's Bench - probably installed this Saturday. In June or July we will have a special commemoration day, with a BBQ, cake stall and people dressing up as Dr.Who characters. Emma to help to decide the date.
 4. Independent Voices - A member wants to do some training at the Club.  
 5. Summer Opening - It was agreed during the 4 weeks summer opening charges would be a little higher i.e. £2 members and £2.50 non-members.
 6. Stay Up Late - As part of the Stay Up Late campaign the Club will hold a disco until 10pm on Friday 19th June.

8. Stay Up Late - As part of the Stay Up Late campaign the Club held a disco until 10pm on Friday 19th June. It was a great success and Anna Turley MP came along. Going to try and stay open more regularly (last Friday of month, with a disco).

These 3 activities to continue until the end of October when the funding runs out.

Training for members around networking, so we can increase the number of people coming to the Club.

3. Summer Outing

Flamingo Land 22nd August 2015. This went really well although a lot of people found it a tiring day.

4. Stay Up Late

As part of the Stay Up Late campaign the Club held a disco until 10pm on Friday 19th June. It was a great success and the Club will stay open late the last Friday of each month with a disco.

the Club afterwards. Meet at 10 am near penguins on seafront.
This will be during Learning Disability Week.
• Race Night on 24th June at Club. This will be a Stay Up Late
night.

price of £12 for an annual membership card. Vanessa and her team were
looking at trying to open during the May holidays.

Scarborough, York, Alton Towers, Flamingoland, Newcastle and
Lightwater Valley.

• 19th August Stay Up Late disco - beach theme. Singing group will do a show, to help confidence building.
• Summer activities include: tennis, basketball, cricket and bowling.

• Race Night in February – upstairs at the Club, to raise funds for a defibrillator for the building. It raised £699.50 plus £110 from the Coffee Bar. £1000 TARGET to reach.

• Tesco support: Easter Eggs donated, food for the café once a month & sports water bottles for football team.
